XIF Version Incompatibility

We have encountered a compatibility problem with TAC Vista Workstation version 4.5 running LNS 3.00. This version of LNS cannot handle LonWorks / LonMark^® external interface file (XIF) version 4.40 or later, which is the XIF file version provided with all current production WattNode^® meters.

Solutions

• Apply LNS service pack 8 for LNS 3.0: http://www.echelon.com/support/downloads/detail.asp?partNum=153-0028-01k
• Upgrade to TAC Vista version 5.0 or later.
• It may also be possible to use self-discovery (the WattNode meters provide internal self-documentation) to discover the device interface.
